An Independent Independence Day

So it's the 4th of July in New York City and everyone is barbecuing, partying and preparing to blow up tiny parts of the land that they love with lots and lots of fireworks.
And I'm inside with sunstroke.
Alex keeps telling people I'm hiding in his apartment in case some particularly patriotic Americans decide to sacrifice me to a giant wicker effigy of Obama but really, it's just been bloody hot. And I'm a bit scared that some patriotic Americans are going to sacrifice me t a giant wicker effigy of Obama. No really, these people get *excited*.
Anyway, I've been out and about taking some summer sunshine pics for you and wanted to share. Jenny and I wandered up to Central Park yesterday where she insisted on re-enacting the 'That's How You Know' scene from Enchanted until planes had to fly over and skywrite an ad for Geico car insurance just to shut her up. Impressive.
On Friday night, I was the Best Girlfriend Ever and went to see Faith No More with Alex on Williamsburg Waterfront. He got awfully excited. I got shoved around. A lot. Note to self, do not wear open toe shoes to an outdoor alt-rock gig. I was rewarded the next morning with pancakes at Relish the next morning. Delish.
Thursday night, we dragged Jenny out to Williamsburg to see my new favourite band (aside from Stills, obvs) Beach Fossils. GET THEIR ALBUM! Jenny is in love with them, despite pretty much being ten years older than all four members. I guess that's never stopped her before...

HiMy daughter got I heart NY with Glamour magazine and it was such a great beach read that we got the next 2 fab books. Was reading I heart Paris on the plane today and it took me away from my nerves as I was completely absorbed. Thanks your style is great and you've inspired my daughter to blog

I read all 3 books whilst in Egypt last week and I'm not a big reader at all. I LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED them and was gutted when I read the last page of I heart Paris!! Please write more, they're just so appealing and I felt like I was taken in completely to each and every place whist wishing I was living it!!
