Karaoke is the best medicine
August 20th, 2009 by Angela
Really, it's not just a blog title, it's the truth. If you don't find drunk-off-your-arse karaoke the most cathartic thing in the world, I don't know what's wrong with you. Made of stone, you must be.

Anyway, I found out that I am a bigger karaoke fan than I knew at Sing Sing with Jenny the other day. Karaoke here is amazing. Not up to anything at 2.00pm on a Friday? Pop along to Sing Sing and get a room. No, not like that you dirty minded people, but they give you a wee little room with the world's best song book (they had the theme tune to Saved by the Bell!), they bring drinks to your room whenever you press a little bell and you before you know it, you're wrecked, belting out Livin' on a Prayer and inviting passing randoms to come and enjoy your booth.

Of course, this also means you're hungover by seven-thirty but if you're ever so clever, you can have a little nap and be out again by ten. That's Jenny by the way, not me. By eight, I'm a complete mess, huddled on the sofa watching True Blood on demand and eating low-fat Phish Food. I had to switch to low fat, I was beginning to see those little chocolate fish dancing in front of my eyes when I went to sleep.

I got all sorts of nostalgic after my last post, bloody Come Dine with Me... And do you know, Gordon Ramsey is NEVER off BBC America. I can't bear it. So interesting to hear about the things you'd miss too. And yes, I can confirm I'd love to go to Hong Kong but it's not on my schedule right now. You never know, though, right?

It's weird, I don't get ever so homesick very often but I do miss certain stuff that I don't have here. I have found that going out and buying new stuff really helps with that but it's not especially good for my finances.

Heaps going on in the next few weeks, I have a yoga workshop on Sunday, belly dancing course starts on Tuesday (no, really) loads of great shows coming up. Depreciation Guild, Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Fanfarlo, ooh, I can't wait. I will of course, ALWAYS make time for the blog though. I actually really love writing this. Wasn't sure I would at first but hearing your thoughts and feedback is brilliant, I'm forever sat here (in the air conditioning, it's still bloody roasting) thinking of questions to ask you. Because you are all oh so much wiser than me...

So today I'm going with:
What is your absolute, fail safe pulling outfit? I don't have mine here or, well, I've never had one, so I am looking for inspiration. What do you reckon? Jeans? Dress? Nothing and a trenchcoat? Help!

Ooh, and I have some photos to post soon!

Understated elegance with a touch of Parisian chic.  Skinny jeans, amazing heels, plain but luxurious racer back vest and a short sleeved sequined jacket... simple yet effective.  You'll feel like a million dollars.

Dear Angela.
I only wanted to say I have had a great time with your book. Yesterday was 2:00am (I have to get up at 6:00am to go to work) when I finished the book...so I had a terrible headache all day because of not sleep....anyway I couldnt stop reading.
Are you going to continue the Angela Story???

Best Regards from Madrid

Ultimate pulling outfit = skyscraper heels (them laboutins will come in handy Angie!), a rara style mini skirt and strappy top... basically a lot of flesh on show (fake tanned to the max obviously!) .......works every time for me!! Pulled some serious hotties in that combo :-)

I call them "My Dorothy's" - Red Sequin High Heels - Forget Men looking at your Cleavage - They cant help but look at your feet - Great conversation starter - Even though "Theres no place like home" can kinda get tedious as time goes on x

My opinion, the ultimate pulling outfit should be something you feel relaxed in... Long t-shirts and leggins (leather look one) and a cardi long or short with a nice pair off heels or flipflops have worked for me ;) Dont forget to smile!! :D
